Monero uses POW (Proof-Of-Work), with an average time of 1-2 minutes for normal sends.

PivX uses POS (Proof-Of-Stake), with 1 second average time for normal sends.


Privacy Tech Algorithm

Monero uses ring signatures (coin mixing). Optional privacy on sends and spends is not possible.

PivX uses custom zerocoin (Zpiv). Optional privacy on sends and spends is possible.
